Is there any way to edit the individual AI drivers skill(s) level(s) in Nascar Heat? Thanks, Sal V.

drivers.txt file... each driver has an entry in there and a ranking. Change their ranking and you'll change their skill. Two or more drivers can have the same ranking, so don't worry about that. That's they only way I know of at the present time. Use at your own risk though... :-) Dave Ericson "MomoBoy" JDB Racing "Sal V." wrote:

NH's AI under yellows and during pitting is just plain broke! Plus they never wreck. The AI needs some serious work. Andy Please use [email hidden] for all email replies

N3, NL, N2000 all surpass NH. the brutal bashing the ai preform during yellows and pitting flunks the sim for solo season play. You just can't complete a race without getting mugged. This, however, is NH's worst fault. The stellar Hardcore mode 'almost' makes up for it. dave henrie

We all know how importing pitting and yellows are, the essence of racing ;-). Come on, turn auto driving on for this and enjoy the frickin' race AI which is very good. If the AI made more errors it would be the best ever. -- Joe Marques Remove *NO SPAM* to reply "Andy" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Sat, 07 Oct 2000 13:06:49 GMT, McMeowr <[email hidden]> wrote: > > >Hardy har har! good one! Where exactly is the option to turn this on? Is it in the menu system or via the cfg file? Now that I think about it, I do recall turning something about pit speeds on or off. (via the options.cfg I think) I'll go poke around now. It still needs fixed though! :-) Andy Please use [email hidden] for all email replies

I have a PII 300, 64mbram,viper 550 16mb video and the game runs awsome. Ive had the odd crash, 1 since the patch.I must say that the length of cautions can be frustrating and is definitely software related and likely will be fixed in final patch. aside from that, I agree that some must have hardware problems because I dont consider my system top of the line and have not experienced some of these glitches. There is something else to consider.I have a feeling the A1 in heat is quite complex. As in a real race, which I have some experience, there is a mindset that distinguishes drivers who are constantly in trouble and those who are not. Often it is not even their fault ,however, they have put themselves in a position where cause and effect eventually results in a crash or spin. Were you aware that if you are driving all over the track and bumping other cars or driving aggressively that the A1 will respond accordingly. If you brake too early in a corner after youve established a rhythm in the last three laps, the guy 1 foot behind you is going to ram you as would happen in real racing.I have a feeling if many NH drivers approached their driving as if it were a real race many of the A1 problems would disappear, not all, but most. As for cautions, stay in your position and in line and dont fall back and theres no problems.I dont use auto drve and never had a problem. Watch your replays to see how you hold your lines. It does effect A1 i'm sure Any opinions about this would be appreciated. thnx BENGAL http://members.home.net/bengal2/karttec.html "Sal V." wrote:
