Hi. I'm new to auto sims. Any suggestions as to which is a good, reasonably priced Steering wheel set up? Also, is forced feedback worth the extra cost? Thanx.

Thanks Paul. Anyone have a Microsoft Sidewinder? What is your opinion of it? Thanks "Paul" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

You're right about the paddles, they are just big buttons actually. OTOH, I would never trade it for the Logitech, as I can accept those button paddles, but couldn't accept the Logitech pedals. Of course, you should check both wheels personally at a store if possible.

Stay away from the Sidwinder. I tried one and the paddles are not well placed and the wheel did not have a good feel. It has some kind of click in the centre that gets very annoying. The Logitech is a good wheel. I use a non FF (didn't like the feel of the FF) There are a lot of fast drivers out there that aren't using FF. Also heard that Act Labs makes a good wheel. jt "Paul" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

The later of the two was used on my previous machine but proved very problematic (could have been the machine of course) and hence was returned for a refund right away. Anyway, to get to my point.... I don't necessarily think a FF wheel is going to necessarily have any effect on reducing or for that matter increasing lap times etc. I purely like the FF as I think it adds a lot to driving games. Obviously it's bound to be best to try both for yourself and decided whether you think the extra expense of FF is worth it, personally I think it is. I'm sure more comments would be appreciated though?..... <snip> >The Logitech is a good wheel. My Logitech Wingman FF was bought to replace a Thrustmaster Sprint (non FF) the logitech has not given any trouble in 10 months - it seems worth the money. I was uncertain about FF as well - it doesn't really add much to my driving - but its a real hoot to have. Note - Logitech have recently changed there wheel, my wheel was the old one, not sure about the new one - I got the impression Logitech where attempting to reduce the cost. Steve Captain wrote: > Hi.
