I used to know how (N2) to do the swap so two of us would see each
others custom paint while racing multiplayer but it eludes me now. Is
it the "GN Player" car that you import the other (online) guys car
into?
If there is a site somewhere that breaks the process down a URL would
be appreciated..
TIA
G Patricks
When you're racing multiplayer, all you have to do is stick his .car file in
your n3 cars folder and it will show up in multiplayer.

1. Go into the N3/cars folder
2. Copy t_player.car to gpatrick.car (8 characters for filename
maximum!)
3. Email your gpatrick.car file to your buddy and have him put it in the
N3/cars folder.
4. When racing online, type the name of your car under the login/password
field. Use "gpatrick" in this case. Now anyone with the gpatrick car
file will see your car.

Ack. I meant, type your car name "gpatrick" in the "Car name" field which is located under the
space where your login/password is usually entered on the Multiplayer login screen. Do not enter
car names for passwords. Sorry for the confusion.

Don't send your t_player.car to him or that will change his single player car. If your friend
hosts, he would type is own car name in the "car name" field.
Important: There is a bug in N3 where if anyone is on the track, they have to exit the track and
goto the chat or garage screen for the car numbers/paintjobs to be updated.
You can test if your gpatrick.car file works by hosting a local race and press F10 to see if your
car shows up.

At least put an option to download them or not.

Hope this helps.

If player #2 adds my car to his /cars folder, and i'm the one hosting
(always the case because I have cable) does HE need to put my car name
in as a password? As the host, I don't believe I have the ability to
enter a password... As it stands now, he sees the Papyrus #83 car
(t_player.car). I believe I can send him my t_player.car file (which
is painted my colors) and assume he will then see my paintjob, is this
correct? Or do I rename it t_play2.car for him?
Its amazing to me, given the small size of these .car files, that they
didn't just put an import function into multiplayer so this was all
automatic.

But it IS automatic. All you have to do is give whoever your car file, they then put that in
their /CARS directory. If you are hosting, you can set a password or not. It does NOT have to
be the name of the car file. The password can be anything you want it to be. Then, once in the
race (unless something is wrong with the car file, check DEBUG.TXT for any car it couldn't load),
whoever you gave your car file too should see it.
One VERY major rule of thumb: DO NOT CHANGE THE MULTI.LST file at all! If you do, your car is
not going to show up properly.
I hope this helps clear up the confusion on the matter, not just for you, but for ANYONE having
trouble mastering what I think is a simple process in N3.

I think my problem was that I
