It would be fun for drag races... In any case, I don't see why it's any
more boring than Indy... <takes cover hurriedly>

I think I'd bore of it fairly quickly, but the online drafting on the
straights could be quite fun if everybody kept a lid on it enough to
stay together.

Have to agree with you. _Extremely_ boring...
sorry to say ...
Dunno if anyone saw this yet: It's a beta version of the avus track for gpl.
It gets my vote for most boring track of the century!
It's just 2 very looooooong boring straights connected with a hairpin and a
steep banked corner. It feels like driving on a highway (except for the
banked corner, I wish every highway had one). Actually it is was highway...

I think if the author decides to change it into the shorter 8-something
kilometre configuration(which was actually used the one time AVUS hosted an F1
championship race), and manages to come up with somewhat authentic
surroundings to the circuit, it could be OK. Not the ultimate test of
race-car driving skill, but then again, neither is Talladega, which many
apparently like.

an F1
It definetly should be shorter. The straights are _way_ to long. I know this
was/is a real life track but anyway. It went straight forward for 4 minutes.
You could just put a brick on the throtle and go have lunch or something and
still have time to comeback and take the corner..

In solo mode yes... but how will it be online with 20 cars? Especially
with a shorter straights version? Imho it will make a very challenging
oval then...

I agree with you, a very silly project that =could= have been very
neat. I got rid of this thing fast. The only thing it was good for,
fine-tuning stick or wheel settings.
The banked-corner is pretty nice. If both turns had the same bank,
and cut down the 7 mile straights(!!) to about 1/2 - 3/4 mile, it
might be nice.
Oh, not to mention getting A/I cars to move, and get yank that guy

Personally, I like it. Sure, it may be a little long, but if the finished
product is historically accurate, it would be a fine addition to the collection.
Also, that banked turn is a -hoot-! I spent a half-hour blasting through it,
doing power spins to turn around and blasting right back through it the other
way. It also bodes well for the possible construction of the banked Monza
(nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

Well I've had fun watching a replay in which I reached 931 mph and I don't
know what altitude... There are one or two glitches in the track design :-)
