Attaya, How did you get the AI to behave on the banking? Nobody seems to have been able to do that on the high banks of Talladega, MIS, Bristol, etc. --Steve Smith attaya <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Steve, I have not seen this AI-patch yet... but if it is what I think it is... it's "not much" (no 'pun intended Attaya) Correct me if I'm wrong... but I presume this patch consist of a new track.ini file for the track - right? If that is the case... then I'm afraid all Attaya here has done is to speed up the AI's "clock-speed" or RELS as Papyrus call it. This means that what you actually get is a bunch of cars, all doing 40 mph. - but running in extreme "fast-forward"... try and see if you can get then to crash - or crash into them yourself.. and you'll see what I mean. :-) As to why the AI's wont work well on ovals.. I'm not sure.. but I do have an idea. I must admit i've only tried to "fix" the Talladega AI's... and that didnt go as planned. I think the "simplified" physics engine the AI's are useing - combined with their car-setups... make the bottom out on the banking - and hence - loose control. I have not trested other ovals tho.. where speed and suspension load's might be smaller. -- Ed Solheim The GPLEA "Stephen Smith" wrote.. > Attaya, > > How did you get the AI to behave on the banking? You are right. By having the cars only appear to the engine to be going at 40mph even though they appear to us to be going 200mph means that they will not bottom out. It just gives you something to chase although I dont know if drafting will work correctly. To fix the AI properly will take much work setting each way point in the AI files which I am sure the creator of the track is doing or has done.
