IMHO, they are the best FF wheel/shifter combo on the market. Notice I said Force Feedback. I use the Force RS and Shifter as my primary race setup. The pedals take some getting use to, but they are not garbage, IMO, as one poster said. They take some getting use too though. If you want to do some improvements yourself, go to http://www.slottweak.com and learn all about the wheel and how to maintain and slightly modify it to make some improvements. I also think ACT-LABS has the best customer service in the sim wheel business. If you email Zenon at tech or even Brandon Crick... they all respond extremely promptly and they will solve your problem! (Although I don't expect you to have any) A truly great bunch of guys up there! <dislaimer> - I am not an ACT-LABS employee, I am not sponsored by ACT-LABS, and I do not receive compensation in any form from ACT-LABS <VBG> </disclaimer> -- Scott B. I would like some feedback on the Act Labs Wheel and shifter. Is it worth getting, Is the shifter supported by most racing sims.

I have one, the wheel is just ok, the pedals are garbage. Much better when I removed the pots for the Act labs pedals and inserted them into T2 pedals. Eventually the wheel began to get wobbly and to creak and I preferred using the buttons for shifting rather than the paddles. Tried the Logitech and didn't like their pedals either but they were far away better than Act Labs. Now using MSFF with serial connection and like it best so far, using the the 1/2 raquet ball under the brake pedal to give better feel. I think they only produce a USB version now and have heard it's really a power hog. techie

I've had my Force RS and RS shifter for several months now and absolutely love it! With racing titles that are known to have good FF (Nascar Heat, GPL, Viper, and hopefully N4) the Force RS really shines. If you've never used a FF wheel, then it will take some time to adjust. Now that I've adjusted, I never want to go back to a non-FF wheel, it's that immersive for me. The shifter will work with most racing titles in legacy (shift up/shift down) mode. To use gated shifting (what the shifter was really designed for) the racing title has to support it (or support found for it as in GPL's case). Most of the newer racing titles have incorporated support for the RS shifter either via a patch (Viper, N3) or with the original title (Nascar Heat). I agree totally. I'd never used a wheel before but I had used FF with Logitech's Wingman Force. So I figured I'd like FF in a wheel. This thing is built like a tank. And control, going from a joystick to a wheel, is remarkable. I'd almost given up on driving games until I got the RS. The pedals are great. I didn't get the shifter. I may get it later, but the paddles seem to work very well for certain games. I use auto-tranny for GP3 and manual for Heat. Anyway, this hardware is well made and worth the moolah. Gary "Scott B. Definately the best wheel available - a solid construction and the most impressive Force Feedback effects. The pedals are a bit crappy but I teamed my mircrosoft pedals up with the wheel and it is a great combination. The shifter is a great addition and more and more games let you to use it properly. The customer support is first class and the Act Labs guys hang out in their own forum to answer questions. They are open to suggestions and reply personally when you have an email query. I understand that they are looking at developing some new pedals (with clutch too) at the request of sim racers who post on their forum. Come to think of it, the best customer support I have had from ANY company EVER!
