I'm firing up this sim again and am curious, what should I DL for it? I'm seeing LOTS of add-ons for it and am lost as what to install first. Is there a guide somewhere? I see Porsche 917's, trucks, pickups, and so many nice add-ons (and all those great new tracks at SRS) and just need some help. Thanks.

Erhm, Sir. Where do you see all these add-ons? I would like to have some too for that game. -- -- Sven "Hawker" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:GhNF5.2216$[email hidden]... > I'm firing up this sim again and am curious, what should I DL for it? Try the following for some downloads but be careful of the latest version of Bathurst: you'll see I'm having probs with it from another post Mark Lee http://aussieracer.cjb.net/ http://www.homestead.com/discpad/index.html http://www.gplea.org/ http://tomsgarage.btwracing.com/cars_scgt.shtml http://www.btinternet.com/~sean.stafford/ http://scgt.speedsims.com/index.cfm?type=tracks http://www.kotr.de/org/scgt/sports.htm http://www.simracing.com/downloads/sportscar/tracks.shtml "Slobodan" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:kyNF5.3550$[email hidden]...

Thanks Tony! Wow, they are beautiful cars. I've loved the 917's ever since they first came out and it's a joy to be able to drive one now, especially Steve McQueen's #20 :) "Tony Whitley" <t o n y . w h i t l e y @ nStPlAwMorld.com> wrote in message news:K%3G5.3798$[email hidden]... > > Hawker <[email hidden]> wrote... > > Thanks everyone! > > > > I'm still having trouble finding the downloadable Porsche 917s though,any

Well I'm no expert, but here goes: "So, which file do I rename "spcar.exe"?" If you have Serviec Pack 3, then rename the SpcarVD2_SP3.exe file. If you don't, rename the spcarVD2.exe file. Be sure ot back up your original Spcar.exe file... "There is also a reference to the "SP3" patch from Techware. What, and where, is this?" This is Service Pack 3 that I refered to. It's quite a large file full of cars, sounds, and miscellaneous updates. I'm sure someone here could tell you where to get it, as I make my own cars or download standalone cars and don't really need SP3... "The visual damage disavows any responsibility if problems arise from it's use. Are people having trouble with this or are the author's just covering their posteriors?" ANYTHING you download as an addon for SCGT will carry such a warning. Dude, all we're saying is that it works on our comps, and if it breaks yours, don't bitch at us about it :) - just politely drop us a line saying that "hey, this program is acting screwy." Not getting hostile at you, just making a point... Basically it's just a formality. I have BAN_SCENE and the vis damage patch, and it works fine. Welcome to the world of exciting sports car action! Hi Experts: I've been interested in SCGT for awhile. So I'm taking this thread as an opportunity to get into it. After a couple of laps at tracks I've never been on, I decide to load some F1 tracks. The readme for Monaco suggests using Ban scene.mas. Ok. I start installing Ban scene.mas as I read it's readme. The first strange thing I see is: 2. Place the self extracting zipfile 'masdel_2.1.exe' in your SCGT main folder and run it by double click on it. This will unpack a new spcar.exe to your SCGT main folder and two files into your 'SCGT\DAT' folder, 'xtract_scene.bat' and 'masadelic.exe' 3. Rename one of the exe files to 'spcar.exe' "one of the exe files"? That's funny. There are six .exe files in the SCGT base directory, including one called spcar.exe: UNWISE.EXE Ip.exe Spcar.exe spcarVD2.exe SpcarVD2_SP3.exe masdel_2.2.exe So, which file do I rename "spcar.exe"? There is also a reference to the "SP3" patch from Techware. What, and where, is this? The visual damage disavows any responsibility if problems arise from it's use. Are people having trouble with this or are the author's just covering their posteriors? Thanks Larry

Thanks Tim: I went to http://mo-sbdc.org/slg/scgt.html (Thanks Steve Garrotto) and grabbed SP3, zipped with a patch to update it to 3.1 and some sounds. It's 138 MB! I'm glad I'm downloading it under Solaris. My WIN98 won't stay up that long. I took my PC into my ISP last week to grab 600 MB with their T3, I wish I'd known about this patch. I appreciate your help. Larry
