Hi Guys. I have NFS High Stakes installed on computer with AMD 800 TBird, 128meg mem, ATI Rage Fury Pro. Direct Draw 7. Monitor set at 1024X768, 16 bit high color. It is a Viewsonic 17' A75f. Game looks and runs beautifully. I loaded game on my other computer, an AMD450, 128 meg mem, Diamond Viper V770. Direct Draw 7. Monitor set at 1024x768, 16 bit high color. Monitor is a Gateway 17' EV700. Game looks like crap. Pixels are large, realism very poor. Both installs are maximum, and 40x CD-rom is used on both. AGP enabled on both. Any idea why the second install looks so lousey? I know neither cards are the greatest, but the Viper V770 has 32mb memory 128bit acceleration and the RIVA TNT2 controller. It should be ok for this game. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanx in advance. Barry -- To reply, remove "nospam" from my address.

Thanx for info. I checked Display settings, and find no place to make change. Can you be more specific. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Barry -- To reply, remove "nospam" from my address. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I had the same problem with my Viper V770, it was running in software > mode. I had the same problem with my Viper V770, it was running in software mode. The game wasn't finding my 3d acceleration, I believe you can change it an option menu in your start-up menu, I don't think it can be done in the actual game option menu. Here it goes......Go to Programs/Electronic Arts/Need for Speed High Stakes/3D devcie setup. The programs defaults to software and when you change it to 3d it will say your video card is not compatible. Just go ahead and change it, I have yet to have a problem. That should do the trick.....Good Luck On Fri, 13 Oct 2000 12:33:57 -0500, "Captain" <[email hidden]> wrote:
