I am running F1 2000 v1.09. I have "quick race" set up for 25 percent
length with 4x fuel consumption and 4x tire wear.
When I am called in for my first and only scheduled pit stop, the car is
refueled but is not lifted and the tires are not changed. This happens over
and over again, at least at Interlagos. I have checked the pitstop plan
with TAB, confirmed that the tire setting is "change", even before pitting.
It is clear that the tires are not being changed, because handling is
progressively worse, to the point where the second half of the race
typically sees a substantial lead lost and MUCH slower lap times.
Anyone know of a fix for this problem?
Thanks.
The only thing I can think is to check your pitstop actions
during the race before you come in. I think you can select
the amount of fuel and whether you want a tire change or
not.
I have had races where the first stop was fine (8-9 seconds
or so), and then the subsequent stops were much longer.
But my tires would always be changed.

Make sure you hit the ~ key at least a half a lap prior to coming into the
pits. This tells your pit crew to get ready. You'll see a yellow light on
your steering wheel light up when you hit the ~ key, and it will turn green
when they are ready, which normally takes a little less than half a lap. If
they're not ready, it'll take longer than usual.

It's obvious if tire-changes are not occurring, as you don't see the
old set replaced with new ones.

I've never used scheduled pit-stops, so that may be what the problem
is (perhaps a bug, I dunno?).
Try -manual- pits. Before a race, setup your car with only 1
fuel-load, keep track of fuel, then pit on your own, a bit before
fuel becomes a problem.
For pitting, I always pause the race (P-key), then press the Tab-key,
so I can take my time and see what needs to be done.
Before pitting, don't know if this helps any, but I always press the
"~" tilde key 3 times, (pit-dash-light goes "on-off-on"). It seems to
help the radio-guy react faster for a pit-request.

But I thought I was
doing that. I'll check closer next time. Thanks.
