I made a very simple support to get my CH pedals sitting at the correct
angle. What I did was get a piece of MDF cut so that it was just wider
than the pedals. I had it cut so that the length was the distance from
the wall behind my computer desk to just beyond where I wanted the
front of the pedals to be. I then cut three pieces of 3/4" square wood
to the same length as the width of the MDF. I screwed two of the
pieces of the square wood to either end of the MDF board. One end acts
rests against the wall, the other acts as a support for the front of
the pedals. The third piece of wood was screwed to the board to act as
a support for the back end of the CH pedals. The pedals are prevented
from moving by resting weights on the rear end of them and by the piece
of wood at the front. The pedals are raised by 3/4" by the back piece
of wood which sets them at just the right angle.
Using this support means that the pedals are always in the same
position and are at excatly the right angle for me.
Cheers

I have used my CH pedals with both the Act Labs Force Rs and the
Logitech LWFF wheels. The wheels were plugged into a USB port and the
pedals plugged into a joystick port along with a joystick. This
arrangement allow the CH pedals to be used provided the sim supports
multiple controllers. I have been able to successfully use this
arrangement with Grand Prix Legends and Rally Championship.

MDF is an abbreviation of Medium Density Fibreboard. It is the sort of
material kitchens are made from.

I really like my standard CH pedal setup under my desk. I have them wedged
on an angle and they just feel "right". My problem is my old TM GP1
wheel...put alot of miles and pots on this wheel. It was a no brainer to
configure the wheel and pedals, just plug the two together and
calibrate...I'd like to replace the wheel so I thought maybe someone has a
wheel/CH pedal combination that works for them..any suggestions? Thank You..

I use the CH Pro pedals in combination with a LWFF wheel.
It works fantastic, especially after I spend hours and hours modifying
the ff for GPL, and last week I finally solved my 'the squashball
won't keep place under my brake pedal' problem'.
(This solution involved lots and lots of tape :))
What did you do by the way to wedge the pedals on an angle?
I tried putting some books underneath it but then the pedals keep
sliding around... even my genius Lots-a-Tape(TM) solution didn't help
here...

Exact same configuration here, CH via gameport and LWFF via USB.
For Rally Championship I still use the LWFF pedals. You don't need
such precise throttle and brake control as GPL requires, and the LWFF
pedals are more suited for quickly hitting the brakes.
Also, after driving 2 hours with my CH pedals, my ankles are really
tired, and I don;t have that with the LWFF pedals.
But perhaps you're change of angle solution for the CH pedals will
solve this! Thanks for explaining, only question I have:
What is MDF?

you recommend for use without modifications? And what about if you did some
mods?

This is a tricky question. If I had to commit to one wheel or the
other for use only with GP3 I would say that the LWFF is better. The
reason for this is that I prefer the LWFF paddle shifters which is
important for a modern F1 sim. I should point out however that I have
hardly played GP3. I bought it on the day it came out and played it
for maybe 2 hours before putting it back on the shelf to gather dust.
If you want to buy a wheel for use with other sims as well I would say
that I definitely prefer the Act Labs Force RS. IMO it is a far
superior wheel. My main sim of choice is GPL and I am definitely
quicker with the Force RS than with the LWFF. Also it is far more
realistic to be able to use the RS Shifter for gear changes in GPL. I
prefer the FF in the Force RS. Since getting the Force RS, the only
time I have used the LWFF is when I have played GP3.
I should point out that I don't like the pedals which came with either
wheel. I find the Logitech pedals to be too small, have too little
travel and not sufficiently sensitive. The Act Labs pedals have a
slightly greater travel and are more sensitive but they are stiff and
notchy which doesn't help precise control. Wherever possible I use my
CH pedals instead.
I have made a couple of modifications to the Force RS. I have
lubricated the belt using some Lithium grease and I have made a steel
support to mount the RS Shifter at a more realistic position. Both of
these mods are detailed here: http://www.slottweak.com . I left the
LWFF as standard.
I think you would be happy with either wheel. If you decide to go down
the Logitech route, you will have to be quick because the LWFF has been
replaced by the Logitech Grand Prix.
