Hi
In our league, which runs F1 and F2 mixed, we frequently have passing
situations involving 3 or 4 cars. Hence we got the idea to make more cars
visible than the normal 4 in front and 1 behind.
We did some testing, but found that it is not possible to increase the
number of cars seen for drivers connecting through dialup. GPL forces dialup
users to use the net_mdm_server_send_size which is maxed at 84 bytes. For
drivers on fixed connections like cable or dsl, it is possible to use the
net_lan_server_send_size, which is not maxed. To do this they set
net_use_modem_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip = 0.
Drivers on dialup cannot join a host who has increased the
net_lan_server_send_size over 84. Running with a server_send_size of 132
would allow us to see 6 cars in front and 2 behind, and the net traffic
could still be handled by a 28Kbps modem connection.
My question is now: do you know where and how to hex edit gpl.exe to lift
the 84 byte limit for net_mdm_server_send_size? Or, alternatively, have gpl
not force dialup users use the net_mdm settings.
TIA
