Where did you find this news from? I checked the official GP3 site earlier and there hasn't been any updates since the beginning of August. Isn't Hasbro looking for a buyer due to losses? Maybe this explains the tardy then nowt philosophy. Crammond does not come well out of this. Sort of leaves a very bitter rip-off taste in one's mouth. "Leong" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:39ed533d$[email hidden]...

thats absolutely a bunch of bullshit. read this.......(note the date, and the subject) 6th October 2000 Grand Prix games producer Nick Court commented for us that the official Grand Prix 3 patch details will be revealed soon. The patch itself will also be available in the near future. Despite Hasbro hasn't given any details of the patch, we already know that it adds three-axis controller support and fixes other wheels related problems. If also changes the physics more realistic when the car goes over kerbs. In other words it's now possible that the other wheel can touch grass while the other is on kerb (which unrealistically didn't happen before). Nick also commented that the details of the '99 add-on will be announced after the patch itself has been released. Leong <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:39ed533d$[email hidden]...

<SNIP> > Despite Hasbro hasn't given any details of the patch, we already know that > it adds three-axis controller support and fixes other wheels related > problems. If also changes the physics more realistic when the car goes over</SNIP> So despite the fact that Hasbro have released NO details, we apparently already 'know' what's in the patch????? How do we _know_ anything about this patch at all? -Nick

Here you go bonehead!! 20th October 2000 Thanks to Executive Producer Nick Court, we got a copy of the Microprose MotorSport announcement of the Grand Prix 3 patch version 1.13: Since the release of Grand Prix 3, we have been listening and studying the comments made by the purchasers of the game and we are pleased to announce a free upgrade is now undergoing its final QA approval checks. It is intended to be released for download (www.GrandPrixGames.com) during the week commencing 23 October 2000. The details of the upgrade are listed below: Gameplay Enhancements * Improved Advanced Controls interface. * Added support for controller fire buttons 1 to 16. * Added support for up to 6 axes per controller. * Menus can be controlled with the accelerator, brake, and steering when in "Control driven calibration" mode. * Implemented an option to reverse the direction of force-feedback where the steering was pulling left on some older wheels. * Implemented a new control device named "Pit signal device" in the advanced control menu. This allows the fire buttons on controllers to be used to activate or cancel the pit signal (instead of the RETURN key). * The grip and bumpiness corrected on grass alongside kerbs. * The grass is modelled correctly for bumps and grip within the pitlane. * Greatly improved wet weather tyre changing AI and precipitation modelling. * Graphics calibration system prediction accuracy improved. * Black flags removed from the outside of overrun kerbs. * Wing repair time affects pit-stop time. * Cars more sensitive to fence collision damage. Fixes to * Link Mismatch problems when 2 players are linked and there is a tumbling, breaking up car, and the two machines have different views of the action. * Cars stopping every lap after 3rd pit-stop if 3 pit-stops are attempted. * Improve issues with chicane barriers at Monaco. * Grid order problem when saving on exit after qualifying session. * Car getting stuck while queuing for the pit after a collision. * Data logging occasionally fails to fetch the lap just completed, after driving into the pits. * Changing help options during a hot lap could sometimes affect the replay. * Last gear change LED stays lit until it is okay to change down. * A loaded game-save (saved near start of wet race) causing the AI cars to pit after a lap or two to change tyres. * On loading a game before ever going in the 3D then the track would not change its wetness/dryness for the rest of the session, even if the rain changed. Graphic Improvements * Support for 3Dfx Voodoo2 cards improved. * Attached camera view car polygon layering improvements. * Anti-alias levels corrected on Direct3D fences when camera is zoomed. * Graphically improved pitlane/ sliproad join problems.
