3D Blaster Annihilator 2 and PIII Trouble

4 posts by 3 people · 18 Oct 2000 - 01 Nov 2000 18:15 UTC

I just upgraded my CPU on my Asus P3B-F from a Celeron 400 to a PIII 800 and now N3 locks up on me. Before the CPU change, N3 worked fine in 1024X768. I am using the lastest Nvidia Detonator 3 drivers and also the latest BIOS for the Asus P3B-F. The game locks up when I try to go to RACE at the track, the video locks with the view of the cockpit in the pits. The keyboard does not function but the sound keeps working and the pedals still work because you can hear the car accelerating and then crashing into the pit wall or other cars (can't tell which one). I have to shut the computer off to get out of the screen. I am using a SoundBlaster PCI128 and have 128Mb of ram. Mike Kyryliuk Windsor, Ontario

I had the same exact problem on my Athlon-800 Prophet-II (GeForce-2). It was caused by me upgrading to the nVidia reference drivers. I went back to the 5.22 drivers specifically for my card and all is well. Sal V. I tried going back to the drivers off of the CD that came with the card, but I am still having problems with 3D games. Sal V. wrote in message >I had the same exact problem on my Athlon-800 Prophet-II (GeForce-2). Itwas

Are you sure you're using the latest D3 driver? There have been 3 different versions. The latest is the 631 version. It only came out a couple of weeks ago, so perhaps you don't have it. Good luck.
