Hey,
Can someone verify the top speeds I can
get on GP2. I've been only able to reach about 204 on the Retiffilo at
Monza. Every setup I've tried has given me the same or lower results.
My friend says he can get up to 213 on Monza in GP3. What the heck am
I doing wrong?
Is it a limitation of the limitation of the game? I'm running with the
98 Car set. Any advice or constructive criticism would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Before you buy.
I seem to have the same problem alot of times. However I seem to remember
being able to get the car up to about 210-215 before. Im not quite sure what I
did though. Try making ALL the gear ratios longer that way they run to a
higher mph before dumping you into the next gear. Also at Monza eliminate ALL
downforce on the car. You really dont need it except maybe in the Lesmos and
Parabolica but it costs you too much on the straights to worry about it.

ooh, not too sure about that. But yeah, for top speeds you want zero
downforce and the ride height as low as possible. This also dictates
that you have the springs as hard as they go. Should get around 215,
I think I got to about 240 in the slipstream of another car.
Don't forget though, that a 10mph speed gain on a fast straight is
less valuable than a 10mph speed gain in a slow corner. I would run
with a bit of downforce, but it's up to you, see what amount *you*
need to get the fastest lap times.

Using GP2 edit I'm sure you are able to change things such as player
horsepower and grip. I seem to remember nudging 210 on occasions though I
am not too sure if that was the result of the carset I was using. Though
I'm not totally sure I would hazard a guess and say that the modern F1 cars
would be quicker in a straight line then the 1994 versions due to thinner
tyres, smaller wings and not surprisingly more horses under the hood.

With the default horsepower in GP2, you should get 205ish (rear wing set to
1)
With the default horsepower in GP3, you should get 220ish (rear wing set to
1)

Increase gear ratios.
Decrease fuel load.
Increase suspension to harder settings.
Reduce ride height.
Reduce front and rear wing.
