Thanks for the help Dave!
The files are from "Tom's Garage" and are self extracing .exe files,
that aparently don't have any .wav files! I sent a message to Tom at
http://tomsgarage.btwracing.com/ to see if he could help, however I did
find the .VEH file you mentioned.
And it does have the four lines of .wav files... Do you suppose I can
substute ANY SCGT car .wav file for those four? Simply re-naming them
to the filenames called for the in .VEH file?

Before you buy.
Hi,
I recently downloaded the F1 cars and several others (Prototypes) for SCGT
but they don't seem to have any sound files associated with them :-(
No in-car, or chase view sound.
I suppose I could find another car's sound file and copy/rename it to work
with the F1 cars, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this? What should
the new sound file be called? And... How will SCGT know it goes with that
car?
Can anyone help here? I seem to recall a long time ago, an instructional
file on editing/creating sound files for SCGT cars, but can't recall which
website it was on.
Regards
Jay J
I havent' messed with the F1 cars but look in the original zip file for
two .wav files. Usually a new scgt car has 3 files that go in the patch
folder and one or two that go into the sound folder. Check to make sure
there aren't any sound files that end with the .wav extension. Unzip those
into the scgt\sounds\22bit16hz folder.
If the zip file does NOT contain any .wav files, go back to the website
where you got them and poke around in other dload sections for sound
updates.
also in the zip file will be a .veh file. This will include lines for 4
different wav files, the in and out of car sounds at idle and acceleration.

But all you have to do, is edit the VEH file in a text editor and change the
Wav lines at the top. There are 2 lines you want to change. One is the 'I'
one is for the internal sound, and the "E" one is for the external sounds.
Just find a good sound in the Sounds\22k folder, and put the name in.
Simple, but annoying..
