Good question. I'm looking for something that'll support a PIII and PC133 SDRAM. Thanks in advance! God bless, Loren >BE6-2 has an ISA slot. Are you looking for Slot 1/Slot A/Socket 370 100 >Mhz/133 Mhz (etc).

Are there any current motherboardds that have at least one ISA slot (PDPI L4 would go here)? God bless, Loren

BE6-2 has an ISA slot. Are you looking for Slot 1/Slot A/Socket 370 100 Mhz/133 Mhz (etc). "UnserFan1" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Are there any current motherboardds that have at least one ISA slot (PDPIL4 > would go here)? > > God bless, > Loren

Depends on the CPU you want to run, but every VIA 694 based MoBo's, such as the ASUS CUV4X, for the FCPGA based P3/Celeron2 has at least one ISA slot.... The BE6-2 - version 2 (BX chipset) supports up to 1 gig P3 (after bios update), PC133 DRAM, ATA-100 drives, and has one ISA slot. Have a look at http://www.abit-usa.com/english/index.htm . All the major companies will have a comparable board. You might want to take a look at http://www.giga-byte.com and http://www.supermicro.com . Have a look at what the BIOS updates do....I think that with them it will support PC133 RAM. Ashley "UnserFan1" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

You're probably right, it doesn't seem to mention DRAM speeds anywhere. In the bios updates it says it supports 133 fsb CPU's, but I don't know whether that means it will also support 133 Mhz DRAM. I presume it does, since a 133 Mhz CPU probably wouldn't work without 133 Mhz DRAM, but I'm not completely sure, and you'd need to be completely sure before spending money on one :) Obviously the reason I mentioned that particular board is because it's the one I have, but I'm running it with PC 100 DRAM (p3-650). I had a quick look at the other A-Bit boards but the ones which mention "PC 133 DRAM" specifically, don't have ISA slots. Anyway, good luck finding one :) "UnserFan1" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > > Thanks! I just kind of drifted in to this thread, but I believe I can shed some light on things. PC133 memory is completely backwards-compatible with PC100 and PC66 memory. It is not functionally different other than being guaranteed to run @ 133Mhz front side bus. Likewise for PC100 and 66Mhz FSBs. I seriously doubt your BIOS has anything to do with the speed of your memory in this sense. If your computer only has 100Mhz FSB, then it is only going to send the signal through the memory at 100Mhz, so PC133 memory would work fine. Know what I mean? If you try to run PC100 memory on a 133Mhz bus, chances are the computer won't even boot, though you might luck out once in a great while. I have a couple 128 Meg PC100 DIMMs and I can push them as high as 112Mhz before they start being weird. If I replaced them on my Motherboard (Aopen AX6B) with PC133 Memory, I could push the FSB higher until I either freaked out the CPU or the PCI bus clock. I don't think there would be any BIOS issue in getting the memory to function if I tried this. I can suggest this board, since it does have ISA slots and will do a 133Mhz FSB. I also have, in another computer, a Soyo MB "6VBA133" which works very nicely and has 2 ISA slots: http://www.soyousa.com/sy6vba133.html hope this helps. If the info is off or redundant, I apologize. ~daxe On Wed, 25 Oct 2000 20:01:07 GMT, "Simon Brown" <[email hidden]> wrote:
