I enjoyed GP3 and still do, but I was wondering..
Is the GP3 1.13 patch really much different? Or is it just minor bug
fixed...?
I'd like ot know...
thanks
James
Direct3D(maybe Glide?) performance advanced greatly too.
It get rid off messy slow down at 1st corner from 22th position. =)
That was I used to having.
My spec is
Athlon 800, 128x2 SD-RAM, Voodoo3-3000 at 170MHz, SQ2500,LWFF.
resolution at 1024x768, fps limit is tewaked to 32fps.
Monaco(at 22th) first lap can only touch 100% CPU occupancy. =))

Apart from many minor bugfixes, it basically adds a whole new controller
calibration (which is infinately better than the old one) and improves the
car behaviour on the curbs and on the grass a lot. It seems that they took
some smoothing routines out of the input handling as well, the release
version of GP3 had a very minor latency in the input which is now gone.
Minor detail: you can now assign a button on your wheel for the pit signal
:-)

Is it possible to have a wheel-button control the pit-speed limiter?
(And have anyone read the readme-file they have on the download-page?
Couldn't open it in Opera or Notepad, but I guess it's in Word-format or
something... (A readme-file that is NOT text-only? Hello, Hasbro, anyone
home?))

The readme file is a 17Kb Word document, and consists of the following:
Available now!! Download your free Grand Prix 3 upgrade. Numerous

These are my 1st impressions of the game itself (not talking bout the
interface)
IMO the AI have improved a lot. They respond more human (slower reaction)
they don't just run into you anymore when you've crashed, there are more
unpredictable dared moves, and they are way more error prone.(e.g.. they try
to outbrake you sometimes and brake too late...)
Damage model has improved a lot. Crashes seem more realistic (thanks to
slower reacting AI) e.g.: when you bump a AI car in the rear, he can loose
control way easier and spin in front of you.
The curbs feel exactly where you see them, instead of the huge invisible one
where you can take all 4 wheels off track.
Grass is made more slippery so when you overshoot a curb your car can spin
away much more easily. A lot more realistic.
One big downside on my Celery 563 TNT2 32MB 128MB RAM: framerate seems to be
slower instead of faster! Especially in traffic in the 1st laps. Maybe I
changed my graphics settings but It looks pretty similar to me!
BTW, all my downloaded track graphics, carsets and stuff have not changed at
all.

So the file is 382bytes of text, with a >16.5Kb overhead to make it only
possible to read in a proprietary texteditor? Glad to see it didn't
contain any important info...

Frode Gill, on his way home with the GP3 patch. LWFF, come to life!
My first impressions were that the steering seems far more responsive and
the car seems to turn in easier and not understeer as much as it did in the
original release. The physics generally seem to be very much improved and
yes, you can now damage your vehicle if you hit a barrier at 120mph:)
