Anyone know of any way of updating the rider's names and so on, so as
to reflect the 2000 superbike season, rather than 1999?
Ie some sort of gp3edit type program, but for SBK.
Or am I right in suspecting EA Sports makes this difficult to
"encourage" users to buy the same game, albeit with minor changes -
such as updated teams/riders etc - each year?
The game itself, sbk2000 that is, is a nice light relief from the
rigours of GPL! But it's a little frustrating that to get the correct
info for the 2000 season I ned sbk2001.
Also, any good web sites concentrating on sbk?
Thanks, Alam.
"Light" relief from GPL? Man, with the full difficulty setting I still have
trouble stringing together two laps without an off-track excursion or a
high-side. Braking and corner entry are soooo important in SBK. GPL is,
for me, a walk in the park because you can work a lot more with the car once
into a corner.
I'm addicted to SBK now, and the gorgeous visual quality certainly doesn't
make it any less rewarding.

Sorry, I've inadvertently made myself sound like an expert - which i
am most definitely not! So far I'm using arcade settings and all help
turned on, so I haven't actually got into the "real" game/simulation
yet. I'm having great difficulty using my wheel, and I'm thinking
I'll need to get a joystick (which i can hopefully use in conjunction
with my pedals) to be able to get changes of direction under control.
So at the moment I'm using it very much like a simple arcade game -
and the visuals are indeed very enjoyable. But, yes, I'm sure that
once I turn off all the aids it won't be "light relief" at all!
But it is a shame we can't edit the names etc - I really want to put
Mr Gobert on the Ducati he deserves!
Cheers, Alan.

A couple of points that may help.
If you have analogue acceleration and braking, it actually improves the
bikes performance to turn the aids off ! It makes the bike a little easier
to control out of the corners. Also, they affect the manual shifting. With
the aids "on" you will get a slight pause when trying to shift gears. This
is fixed if you turn the aids off.
What kind of wheel are you using ? If it is a Microsoft FF, you can adjust
the range of motion for the steering in the profile settings. Create a
profile for SBK and go to the Profile editor and set the range of motion as
small as possible. This improves things tremendously. Just remember to
activate the profile before you play ! I suppose most controllers have this
kind of option.
Sorry, there are no editors for SBK2000 or 2001. But if you go here>
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/index_archive.html , they have quite a lot of
stuff for SBK.
