Can I put a wheel, say the TM Pro Digital 2, on the USB port for racing, and then use a game pad or a joystick, on the game port for NHL2001 or other non-racing game, and they both work for the respective games? If so, how do I set it up?
You can certainly try, whether it works or not will depend on the individual games. I have a USB steering wheel for racing sims and a FF pro joystick in the gameport for flight sims and it works a treat with both connected. Setting it up should be no more complicated than connecting both devices and installing both sets of drivers. If only one device appears in the Game Controllers list in the Control Panel, then you can try to add the second one manually. Yes you can, but some programmers haven't taken advantage of all the inputs direct x can supply. So you might have to go into the control panel/game controller section and remove the wheel, then make sure the game pad is on controller input #1. When you want to drive, you reverse the process, removing the gamepad and re-installing the wheel. Other games are more sophisticated, and will see the gamepad on the #2 position, so it is a trial and error kind of situation. dave henrie "Dwayne White" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Can I put a wheel, say the TM Pro Digital 2, on the USB port for racing, > and then use a game pad or a joystick, on the game port for NHL2001 or > other non-racing game, and they both work for the respective games? > > If so, how do I set it up?

It worked when I hooked them both up. Thanks to everybody that replied. And yes, NHL2001 does rock! My team if from the old WHA, the Cincinnati Stingers. rik anthrax wrote:
