1968 Mustang Fastback 2+2 manual 3-speed. 302 V-8 engine with Holly 650
4 Barrel Carb, Hooker Headers and Posi in the rear. That was a fun car!
Brings back memories of my high school days in Southern California
cruising to the beach listening to Foreigner, Boston and Van Halen while
sneaking Mickey Big Mouths along for the ride ;)

Hmm, in my case, that *was* a mitigating factor... also, at the time I
sold it, it had major floor problems, and there were no businesses like
Stoddard that offered replacement floor pans. Still wish I'd kept it.

I actually GAVE it back to the guy I bought it from because he said
his GF needed a car and I knew he would take good care of it. He sold
to someone else about 9 months later. Needless to say we haven't
spoken again since then.
Though this may seem quite pedestrian to some of you Brits in here,
let me tell you this was not the most common thing on the road over
here in the USA. People driving Nash Metropolitans would give me
thumbs up. I once got out of a parking ticket because the stupid
meter maid couldn't figure out what kind of car it was. That little
997cc, red leather interior bomb would go ANYWHERE. It was so narrow
I could drive around or through barriers set up to keep 'motorized
traffic' out. I was working at a Chevy dealer at the time and the
dealership owner made me park it behind the showroom because he
thought it distracted people too much from his cars for sale.

My 1970 XW GTHO. ;( Classic Aussie Musclecar.
Nearly in original condition. Everytime I hear a V8 I shed a little tear.
;( Crap radio, no air-con, no power steering, no cornering ability but
every moment driving it was a complete joy... and it turned LOTS of heads
(to the point that people were running up to me in the street begging me
to sell it to them - they eventually won).
Cheers,
Rod.
