(Eldred, you might not want to read this!) If any of you remember...I was the one with the jumping joystick and the F3 races...well, first I would like to thank all of you for helping me with my F3 dilemma and the Joystick problem was fixed with the purchase of an MSFF wheel. Since the time I got the wheel, my times have done nothing else but get better! Originally, when I started out with the F3 Cooper, I had a GPLRank of seven hundred something and wasn't going to even consider using either the F2 or F1 cars. Not to long after that, I downloaded VROC and joined the online racing revolution. Now, exactly two months and 17 days after I received GPL via UPS, I have driven about 50 laps of the Ring and now have a pb of 8:54.35 and have a GPLRank of +68.64 If anybody wants to check out some of my best times check it out on GPLRank. My username for f1 is bigaln2 and my username for f3 is bigaln2-f3 The former is also my handle in the chat rooms on VROC and generally in F1 or F3 I will be racing as Bad Al (that's just a nickname that I got from some friends at school, it really has no meaning!). When it's F2, I call myself John Doe-F2 (More than likely, I will change that too, just to maintain continuity.). PS, if anyone wants to check out my best laps, I will be willing to zip them up (except for Rouen--I screwed up cutting it) and send them to you. Hi noname/John Doe/Al/Big Al (boy, you value your anonymity!) Firstly, well done on the GPLRank, pretty impressive for under 3 months. I'm impressed you did all the circuits in F3 first, most people, including me, opened the box in the morning and are in F1s by lunchtime [ok, maybe I exaggerate a little]. I'm pretty sure this is one of the reasons you have done so well so quickly. The F3s give you time to learn the circuit and pick out a decent line, also, you don't have fight the car as much under braking and acceleration. I've put together a small driver training package which might help you further (see my other posts) which I'll gladly email you if you like (it's 1.3Mb). should help you move closer to that magic 0.0 (and beyond).
