I don't know if anyone here reads the UK magazine Motor Sport, but they
do an ongoing feature on classic tracks of yesteryear, and this month
they featured Crystal Palace in London, last used for racing 30
something years ago.
It struck me as being a great track for GPL online racing, it's short
and twisty, but challenging with camber and gradient changes. Lap times
would be under a minute. Sort of like London's answer to Watkins Glen.
Perhaps the GPLEA would like to follow on from Goodwood:-)

I read the article to, and thought exactly the
same thing.
I live in London, think I'll pop along to crystal
palace sometime and take
a look round at what's left.

I was up there on a film shoot for a Sky movie earlier this year. Not
much of the track left as it's now the entrance to a large sports centre
but someone with me used to race there in the "old" days. Said it was a
fantastic little track.

Here's the track layout
http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/crystalp.html
Looks pretty simple, but with all GPL tracks, simple is not always as it seems...

*Chris* Sutton plays for Celtic. And I hate Sutton Utd. Thank you.

Shouldn't be as much work as some of the long tracks such as Solitude
and Bremgarten that are being done though. Lots of period photos and
film available too.

Crystal Palace was also the home of the great saloon car battles of the
'60s with gigantic bellowing Ford Galaxies, stately Jaguar Mk. IIs,
Lotus Cortinas, Mini-Coopers, Hillman Imps -- sounds like a job for SCGT!

I haven't followed SCGT for quite a while.
Are there serious classic-cars available for this sim?
If yes, where?
