Increasing force feedback in GP3 using Guillemot Ferrari wheel

Dear all, I have loaded up the 1.13 patch for GP3 and all the split axis problems seem to have been solved fine. However, I now have a question about the force feedback effects in GP3 and using a Guillemot Ferrari wheel. Is is possible to increase the strength of the FF effects in GP3? I have put the effects to maximum in the Guillemot game controller applet, however, when playing GP3 I don't get strong FF effects at all, quite lame actually. The strange thing is that the Guillemot game controller tests are very strong (when you test the wheel config in game controller applet. Also, in Need for Speed 3 ( NFS3 )and Colin McRae I get very strong FF effects. I'm wondering if there is somesort of registry or INI tweak available for GP3. Finally, whilst I'm on this subject, has anyone had bad experiences playing Starwars Pod Racer with the Ferrari wheel? Thanks Shivy Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Have you adjusted the 'scaling' option in the controller config window? AFAIK, that's the only way to modify FF within GP3. -NIck [email hidden] wrote:

I've got FF set to 60% in GP3 and it's very strong (Logitech Wingman FF). It seems to change when you change the other settings (reduce with speed etc)
Afraid I cannot offer any advice, only sympathy..... I find this one of the most dissapointing parts of GP3. With my LWFF, the force feedback is there, but I can smack the car into the barrier at three figure speeds and barely get it to react. Obviously, there is something wrong with my set up - but GPL, and the six other racing titles I regularly use have no problems at all. If there is something wrong, its not at all obvious what it is. Don't get me wrong, GP3 is something I enjoy playing. Its a bit like "Hidden and Dangerous" the game concept might be absolutely brilliant - but this makes the bugs even more annoying. Yep, the FF reaction hitting a wall isn't huge, but don't let this *minor* flaw detract from the rest of game's FF which is superb. > Obviously, there is something wrong with my set up - but GPL, and the six > other > racing titles I regularly use have no problems at all. Both are excellent. > Don't get me wrong, GP3 is something I enjoy playing. My eyes lit up when I first saw H&D but like you, I was disappointed - ended up playing Rogue Spear instead. Andrew
Hi Andrew Yep, I know what you mean about hitting the walls in GP3 at high speed and only feeling a little thing. Anyway, i won't be able to test my wheel with GP3 until the weekend :-( However, I read an article on rec.autos... about an option in the setup screen in GP3 where you unckeck the box with "increasse strength with speed" (or something similar to that). Apparently, someone unchecked this, and consequently his forces at high speed increased. Try it and let us know what effect it has. But, yes, in NFS3 Hot pursuit, the wheel (as they say) Rocks! and also in Colin McRae Rally aswell. cheers shivy In article <M%7M5.87$[email hidden]>, "Andrew Williams" <[email hidden]> wrote: > > I find this one of the most dissapointing parts of GP3. It is the steering speed sensitivity that needs to be set to 0. It's a matter of the physics engine, really. The speed sensitivity increases the steering ratio as the speed is higher, as awkwards as that is, and this means a lower steering effort at high speed. Setting it to 0 is the way a real car works and gives the most (and very) realistic feedback. -Gregor
I patched my copy up to ver1.13 last night, and I must admit, its better now the pedals work properly - and I agree with Andrew that crashing should be a minor part of the game. Andrew Williams wrote:
