I'm getting a cable modem installed today and wanted to try hosting a
few F3 races tonight. Is there a chat room on VROC for the F3 crowd?

Hi Ken,
I don't think there is, but you can set one up yourself
in WinVROC and invite others who are interested to
create it in their WinVROC, and you should all then
be able to "see" each other.
Not sure about <spaces> in Chatroom names though
so you may need to use <underscore> or <hyphen>
to separate any two/three word name.
Maxx
PS. If you ever run any at UK friendly times, I wouldn't
mind an F3 race :)

I should be up and running around 8:30 pm AST (-4:00 GMT) provided the
installer shows up as scheduled . Not very UK friendly time wise but maybe
if you are half asleep I could actually keep up with you. :) Weekends are
the only chance for UK friendly times unless I set up a dedicated server
(or take the day off ). But for now I just want to see how well the
connection works. Now when is that damn installer joining to get here!.;)

PS. I did look at the files you sent. My F1 times haven't budged but
that's because I've been spending my limited GPL time in the F3's and
having a lot of fun. Thanks.
Hey Ken, welcome to the world of broadband! My ADSL connection has
re-energized my interest in GPL on line. Now if there isn't a race I want to
run I just host one of my own.
But it sure was fun learning about modems wasn't it??

Umm... yeah, sure it was. ;) It does sound nice to be able to host the
track/class I want instead of waiting for it. If you got the time why don't you
check vroc tonight around 8:30 AST for an F3 race; maybe I'd actually keep ahead
of you while you're adjusting your brake points etc :)

Might take you up on that. I've never actually driven F3 so I'm sure I'll
completely suck. How well do setups transfer across classes? (i.e. could I
copy my F1 setups to my F3 driver and use them basically as-is?)
Help out an ignorant Westerner: Halifax is 4 hours ahead of Victoria? If so
I will still be at work at 8:30 AST (:

I don't know how'd they'd transfer. Gearing would probably be different because
of the change to a 4 speed. I would think the diff could be changed as well
because of the lower power but this is also just a guess. I'm using Gary
Simpson's setups from Mike Horton's page (look for the setups posted with the
hotlaps);

I could send them to you if it makes it easier, just send me an email..

According to my system clock, Pacific Time is -8 GMT , AST is -4 GMT so yes you
would probably still be at work. I thought you were on Mountain Time , but a
guess that would still be a little early. :( Check when you get in to see if I'm
still on VROC but I probably won't be up very late. Now I see why most of the
leagues run on the weekends; trying to get people together across 9 or 10 time
zones isn't easy. I'll let you know if I'm ever up to some late night racing.
