I ran into some discussion board the other day with a topic along
the line of "What tracks would you want to see modelled for GPL?"
As you might expect, several people were suggesting tracks like
Reims, banked Monza, Mont-Tremblant and so on; but what caught
my eye was passing mentions that some people actually ARE
constructing Reims and Clermont-Ferrand! Does anyone know more
about these projects? They certainly aren't being advertised too
visibly.

I think track makers are learning from early mistakes. If they post 'in
progress' pictures they get emails for the next 6 months asking when
it's coming out and, understandably, they get a bit pissed off. Dave
Noonan had the right idea. He just works on tracks and releases them out
of the blue. I don't think anyone knew he was making Imola or Road
Atlanta until they actually went up at the US Pits. Speaking to Martijn
(maker of Solitude) on VROC just after it came out he said he got a bit
fed up with always being asked what he was making next so I guess we'll
see when they come out eh? GPLEA are working on a track codenamed -matt
which pops up on VROC from time to time. No-one outside GPLEA seems to
know what the track is and they aren't saying either. So we'll just have
to wait and see......
