After installing the Rally Masters 3.0 patch I get a error message to "install the original game CD" when I try to run the game with the cd sitting in there. I haven't been able to find any good places to find info about this problem. Is there a known cure for this? Jim D.

I just had the same thing happen. I think it is because we have the US/Canada version and the patch is only for the European version!!!!!!!!! I only bought this title because a review said it supported split axis pedals...and it appears that it doesn't (at least the out-of-the-box US version). What an annoyance that some developers have to be prodded into letting people use steering wheel controllers with racing games!!! And where is the patch for the US version--who the hell knows??? I bought the European version about 6 months ago from www.interactcd.com even before the patch for it came out, the game supported split axis pedals, although prior to the patch it would sometimes see my LWFF (which I had set to split axis) as combined! Since the patch I haven't recalled coming across this problem, but before that, I would often have to shut the game down, then re-start it to get it to recognize the split axis. Sometimes this didn't even help, but usually firing up a game like GPL that will support/recognize split axis correctly first, then going back to Rally Masters would do the trick, and it would see the brake and gas pedals as separate. You might want to check out the "High Gear" website, as there is a forum for Rally Masters, which might be useful, apparently some of the folks who work at Digital Illusions/Inforgrames will hang out there and answer questions from time to time. Frankly, I've become a bit disillusioned with Digital Illusions as they made a lot of promises they didn't keep and often would announce something that didn't happen. Like the 3.0 patch for instance... It was promised about 5 months ago, and just now came out recently, and... It doesn't appear to do much! I'm not a big fan of internet play, but apparently it was written to fix some internet bugs? The only thing I've noticed is that the game doesn't give me as much grief with the split axis as it used to prior to the patch. But I digress... I was under the understanding too, that Rally Masters would be re-named "Test Drive Rally" here in the States, and that it would be the fully patched version? I can't imagine patching it again, would disable a feature, but who knows with this French based company? Jay J Marc Collins <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:6vyP5.50935$[email hidden]...
