Hello all,
Ive just bought a Guillemot Ferrari FF wheel as a replacement for my
completely worn out MSFF wheel. Apart from the fact that I cant calibrate
it in GP3, it has a strange problem in GPL, which is far more important ;-)
Using my Geforce2 GTS, the framerate occasionally has weird 5-10 fps
"hiccups" in random places around a track. Needless to say, this is not cool
while trying to navigate Eau Rouge at speed. Switching to my ancient Voodoo
2 either cures the problem, or makes it a lot worse, again in a fairly
random manner. The slowdowns are not caused by HD activity.
Other system specs are Cel566 @ 707, 128mb RAM. The problem occurs both in
serial and USB connection. I have uninstalled the Guillemot profiler
software after a tip that that might cause the problem, but it doesnt make
any difference at all.
Any help on this subject would be very much appreciated, as it is driving me
slightly mad......
Regards,
Soren Sarstrup
Doesn't sound normal to me as I've got a Ferrari FF whell and Geforce DDR
and GPl runs really well. What Drivers are you running?

Detonator 3, 6.31. I upgraded from 5.22 because I thought that might be the
problem, but it didnt help.

the time. The only thing is to re-install GPL and make sure you apply all
the patches (1.2 GPL patch and Direct patch).
Also you might want to check what programs you have running in the
background and disable any if you have. Make sure you have a permanent swap
file at least 256Mb. Without knowing much more that about as much as I can
sugest.
As a very last resort there's the old Micosoft answer to everything (Format
and re-install)
nb Guillemot now have FF drivers for Windows 2000 and and GPL runs very well
indeed on it.

Thanks for your tips. Ive done something even more last resort than a
format, and returned it. I tried everything, including what you suggest
here. Im going to bite the bullet and get an ACT Labs.
Thanks for your help though, it is very much appreciated.
