Hi. IMO it's really up to you how you want to approach GPL with respect to the view you use. I know at least one guy in the Snake Racing League I'm in who drives in f10/chase view all the time because he feels it gives him better peripheral vision, which it certainly does vs. the cockpit view, and he's able to do very well with that driving perspective. But, IMO and in the opinions of many, you give up much of the immersion factor that way, which is one of GPL's greatest points. You might try Gregor Huttu's "high cockpit views", available here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/ghuttu/ Basically these are a compromise between in-cockpit and chase/rollbar views. You need to read the instructions there fairly closely, though, because the ability to use the high-cockpit views is pretty dependent on what car you're using. But, of course, there are so many factors involved in driver "comfort" that it may not be just the viewpoint of your driver that needs attention. Understanding the basics of vehicle dynamics, racing lines and tactics, etc., etc. can certainly have a big impact on your results. And, there are definitely many resources on the web that can speak to these other points, such as: "Recommended Driving Behaviour" http://www.powerup.com.au/~philmak/gplac/rec_driver_beh.htm "GPL Foolishness" (don't let the title fool you) http://website.lineone.net/~richardn/ Lights Out Racing driving tactics http://lightsoutracing.simplenet.com/driving/index.html HTH and best of luck, ============================ Dave Mack [email hidden] (remove "nospamfor_" for correspondence)

When racing in gpl I tend to feel more comfortable with the chase view, yet other racers I have chatted to on vroc say that I should be using the cockpit view. I desperatley want to improve my driving (i'm always last). So any suggestions will be welcomed with open (suspension) arms

Sem, I used this view to learn tracks because of the better overview. My greed for realism always brought me back to the cockpit-view quite soon. You could try the drive-view(something like that) = 12, which gives you an elevated view. No mirrors and gauges are available here. JensSchumi BTW PLease don't use this vew online, few people could be pissed off because of reckless driving. It's somewhere in the driver.ini You should find it easily. Keep in mind that it will reset to default as soon as you touch the F10-key.
