I got the Australian demo version of Dirt Track Racing with this month's PCpowerplay Magazine Now that I see what they have done, i'm not pissed off anymore by the long wait. Some the cool cars, all Holdens of course: 68 Monaro 77 Kingswood 72 LJ Torana 76 LX Torana 78 VB Commodore - Is this a joke? 98 VT SS Commodore - sweeeet! Back to give it another go. Cheers Adam
Not familiar with Holdens. Is that an Australian car manufacture of street cars? Lutrell Adam Moore wrote in message <7z3O5.25330$[email hidden]>...

The only "real" car in the demo is the VT SS Commodore I also have tried the DTR Spint Cars demo, it's about the same, Cars going sideways like a dog running on a lino floor. Does this mean that the models have been chnaged, or just the names of the in game car models. I would really love to download this demo and have a look, as I have not been able to find any pictures online. Please post a link, otherwise I will be off to my local book mega-mart and see if they carry Australian PC magazines... Yes, it is an Australian Manufacturer who is controlled by General Motors "Lutrell" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:844O5.222$[email hidden]... > Not familiar with Holdens. PC Powerplay (Australian magazine - best PC gaming mag in the world btw) has a screen shot on the front and my guess is that it does contain new models and not just new skins. There's a demo on the CD aswell.
Holdens are the most common cars in Australia - the typical family car, but they also manufacture some awesome 'street cars' called HSVs (Holden Special Vehicles)
For more info on Holdens or HSV goto: www.holden.com.au www.hsv.com.au "Andrew Williams" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:1N4O5.103$[email hidden]... > Holdens are the most common cars in Australia - the typical family car,but > they also manufacture some awesome 'street cars' called HSVs (HoldenSpecial > Vehicles) > >

"Real life" cars, not fictitious car names. "Capp" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:Sq6O5.17680$[email hidden]...

Does this mean it's *FINALLY* going to be released here? Would have also been nice to have a Ford counterpart in the same era... say, an XW, XD, XE, and an XR8! We're not all Holden fans ;/ Cheers, Rod.
Anyone know if we can even get this magazine in the States? My local book conglomerate carries many Computer mags from the UK and Germany, but I haven't seen any from other countries. Anyone in the states have a clue, or has there been an Aussie Demo download site set-up? General Motors' Oz flag-carrier is Holden. LOL! This is about the most hilarious and unflattering description I've read. The problem for me is that the dog is usually chasing his own tail . . . which explains why I'll wait for Leadfoot and some real tracks. Assuming that Leadfoot will see the blessed light of day, of course . . . Ryan

Holden and Ford are the two biggest car sellers here followed closely by Toyota. For a picture of my 350 powered 74 Holden GTS Monaro coupe (HQ) check this link.... http://www.motorcities.com/contents/00GRE343243266.html I might be a little biased but the HQ Monaro is often described as the best ever looking Holden. It was never a race winner though, by the time the HQ was released Holden was using the Torana to race the Fords. The earlier Monaro's did race and did very well. It was the 350 in those cars that gave Ford a wake up call and they started using the 351. It's nice to see the 350 make a return in the latest Holden Commodore after Holden stopped using it many years ago, 1974 I think was the last time Holden used a 350. For other Holdens try the one below... http://www.motorcities.com/contents_car.html#Holden Tony

Ah yes, the Ford HO GT Phase III should have been included. I get kind of tingly knowing that the fastest sedan in the world, in it's day, was made in Australia :) But really, it's not the kind of car you'd want to go dirt track racing in. It needs a game or sim that has nice long and twisty open road tracks. Tony

Yes, my XWGT was exceptional on straights but a mongrel to turn. ;) Hopefully WSC will have the same dedication that SCGT got wrt Aussie makes and models, and Bathurst. Cheers, Rod.
