Those of you who have read through Steve Smith's book that came along with GPL
surely noticed the story on the 1967 Grand Prix of Italy. Well,
http://www.thef1files.com has posted a movie highlight clip of this race.
Included is commentary written by yours truly, with some obvious inspiration
from Steve Smith's original writings on it. :) Check the Specials page. I've
yet to download it, so I don't know how good the clip is, but I'm willing to
bet it's good.

Ok, who hasn't read it? I think I've read it 10 times or so, trying to
figure out the secrect black magic involved in setting your car up...
Thomas,
The secret is finding a setup you feel comfortable with, not one you reckon
*ought* to be fast (like a softer suspension for better mechanical grip, or
a harder one for better car control). Once you find a setup that you can
relax and enjoy, the laptimes fall like scales from your eyes. Of course,
thousands of hours of seat time don't hurt, either. <VBG>

But aren't there some settings that are inherently slower than others? "Easy"
doesn't mean "fast".I find *most* of Alison's setups easy to drive. However,
others have said they're not very fast. Based on the speeds I'm able to
achieve, I tend to agree. I haven't found anything that was both easy to drive
AND fast...

Have you tried the solitude defaults Eldred?
Marc Mercer
It's one of yours isn't in Marc?? It is indeed a very balanced and easy
to drive setup, as are all the setups of yours I've tried.

Yes. My PB is 4:15.93, but I've only run about 5 laps there...
