Yesterday I stumbled across an interesting transcript from a radio show (KGPL). Appearently they asked all of the major American presidential candidates how they felt about GPL. Gore: "Last week when I was lapping Greger Huttu at the Ring, I had an idea. I believe that everybody would benefit from government standards creating a level playing field. In the future all races on VROC, which is hosted on my network, there will be mandatory setups for all cars. Then nobody will unfairly be able to outdrive others." Bush: "I believe in the rights of all individuals to drive as fast as they possibly can. In fact, as an incentation for even faster and more competitious driving, I will add another 25 hp to the Lotus and Eagle, 10 hp to the Ferrari and Brabham, and 2 hp to the rest of the cars. The Lotus and Eagle put in more speed and deserve even better speed. We all know that drafting helps build speed and with my proposal even the BRMs will be able to go faster by drafting behind faster cars." Nader: "GPL is an irresponsible passtime where gallons of precious natural resources are wasted for the fun of the privileged. Furthermore, hundreds of innocent bystanders and unskilled drivers are killed dayly. In the interest of gas-saving and public safety all races shall be in F3s with throttle, braking, and shifting assistance ON." Buchanan: "GPL is an American simulation and will be restricted to American drivers driving the American car, the Eagle, which is a masterpiece of engineering and American entrepreneurship. All races will take place at Watkins Glen, the American track, which is much superior to the Canadian and European tracks." Browne: "The track officials are unfairly dictating how you, the driver, can drive. I say 'No more!'. You should be allowed to drive clockwise or counterclockwise according to your own wishes. This is a fundamental human right. Likewise, cutting corners and railriding is fine and should not be penalized by the officials." Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Ross Perot says GPL is mine! I own it! I own everything! I'll rent it to you along with some air to breathe whilst you are driving! I'm going to be president when I've stopped being a penguin! "don hodgdon" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8uea2l$8aj$[email hidden]...

Nicely done. Now if you can only show us the photo finish, it'll smooth things out immensely. :-) <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8udsh4$e1a$[email hidden]...

News update: During the wait for official election results, the presidential candidates decided to go for a VROC race to kill some time. The vigorous battle between Gore (Eagle) and Bush (Eagle) at the Noonan's latest masterpiece Palm Beach ended up with Bush crossing the finish line two hundredths of a second ahead of Gore. This caused controversy, as Gore claims that the old type of connection used caused a clock smash, as it was clear from his position that he was in the lead at the time, and an inexplicable gain in time was given to another, twice lapped racer. Bush, on the other hand, claims that the connection system is not to blame, and that the percieved anomaly was due to lag, for which Gore's machinery is solely responsible. At this point, Gore refuses to leave the track in order to stall the decision of the server, and demands the replay to be taken from the server and scrutinized by hand. -Gregor
