Last nights Dateline on NBC included a segment on IHS offset crash testing of SUVs. The BMW did great. The Trooper was lousy. They actually tested it three different times. After the first test there was a major fuel leak. Isuzu prepared a fix and asked that IHS retest the vehicle with the fix. It failed again, so Isuzu came up with another fix and asked for another retest. The fuel system did not leak after the third test, although the vehicle's performance in the test was otherwise marginal. The net is that Isuzu has issued two recalls to install fuel system fixes. One to install the initial fix and another to install a fix for the fix.
