Hi, I have a Thrustmaster T2 connected to a computer running Windows '98. Although I can see and calibrate the T2 from the '98 Gaming Option control panel, when I run Nascar 99 or NFS III and attempt to select the steering method, neither game responds to the steering wheel or pedels. What am I missing? The system has DirectX 8 installed. Thanks, Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I recently installed DirectX 8 on a Win 98 machine with a T2 - end result was Windows now can't see my pedals. Games get confused as to my settings. In the STCC2 demo the throttle is stuck wide open except when i turn left, in which case the gas is released and the brake is applied more and more the more i turn - hmmm perfect for Nascar short ovals :) I haven't solved it yet, am just using the papyrus driver in gpl for the time being. I don't understand this, I have a T2 on Win98 with DX8 and have no troubles. Did you check the gameport interface tabs on your soundcard, or try to reinstall your soundcard drivers. Also there is a dx8 uninstaller if you really need it. rms [email hidden]

I had the same problem and this is how I solved it. 1. Open DX7AENG.EXE with winzip and extract msanalog.vxd to \windows\system and \windows\sysbckup 2. Open control panel, then the system control panel. Remove the Creative Gameport Joystick located under Creative Miscellaneous Devices. 3. Shut your machine down. 4. Now this is the tricky part. Turn your machine back on. My pedals now work with DirectX8. Hope this helps, Pete.
