I use a MSFF wheel (non-USB) with GP3 and have the new patch. After a bit of mucking about I have separate axis now and can use the "paddles" to change gear. However, I have tried selecting a button to use for the clutch and it doesnt work - I've tired all the available buttons on the wheel to no avail. Any idea what I'm doing wrong. Is there a keyboard letter that I could use that I could map as the clutch in the sidewinder profiler. Aside from the clutch, the game is really good now - the physics model and wheel together feels pretty realistic. Only thing I really wish for in this game is to be able to hear the other cars - would add so much more to the immersion factor.

The best is to use the default setting "use gear change for clutch" IMO Just hold the paddle in for neutral and release it for gear. Just don't rev to high when releasing the paddle (as if you didn't know that) :) -- Greetings Johan N [email hidden]

i agree with you about the lack of engine sounds for the other cars... i imagine it would be quite nice, to have surround sound, and you can here the other competitors cars creep up from behind... wonder if a patch could fix it? - brian
You pretty much engage the clutch by selecting the gear change buttons, but you shouldn't be accelerating at the time. Like if your stuck in gravel. Just accelerating isn't enough the power isn't there. Instead, hold the gear up button, rev like hell the let it go, the rear wheels will spin like mad. Thats pretty much the usual way of using the clutch, and before someone adds GPL is better because of it's use of a clutch, GPL cars have manual gear shifting, GP3 cars as is correct have semi-automatic gear boxes so a system like this is almost correct, the correct way could be applied if there were 4 paddles instead of 2 but they improvised well.
