If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have the same problem , my pedals are dead.
I can play nascar3 by using the papyrus driver but I have no pedals with
anything using the directx driver.

Fired up GPL... entered the ring... engaged first gear... mashed the
accelerator expecting a cloud of smoke. Nada... zip... zippo.
Basically, my Thrusmater T2 pedals are no longer working :(
Uninstalled the T2 driver, reinstalled the driver... tried with the
adapter... tried a generic driver... kicked the box a few times... All to
no avail.
The steering works fine (x axis?) but nothing is coming through on the
pedals (y axis?). Has anyone else had this problem and been able to resolve
it?
At this point I'm looking at a reinstall of the OS and everything else...
which I would really, really like to avoid.
For the love of god, please help.
Oh, i'm using a SBLive value soundcard (joystick port) if that matters.
Pete
I don't understand this, I have a T2 on Win98 with DX8 and have no troubles.
Did you check the gameport interface tabs on your soundcard in DevMan, or
try to reinstall your soundcard drivers (I'm using a MX300 soundcard). And
what do you mean by 'T2 driver' I've never needed one. Also there is a dx8
uninstaller if you really need it.

I've heard this exact thing too. I'll wait for 8.1 when they fix the
inevitable bugs :-)

that Thrustmaster sent me an adaptor to go on the end of the T2 gameport
connector. I dug it up, snapped it on, and it works great now. I have no
idea what it does but if you look under the "game controller" setting in
Windows you'll see "T2 w adaptor", and "T2 w/o adaptor". Somehow DX8 hates
the T2 w/o the adaptor.....

Go into control panel and game
controllers. Click on yours and click REMOVE. Then add it again and
re-callibrate. This should fix the problem.

Anything from Microsoft sucks, some find out the hard way ;-)
While its easy to look onto your troubles in a most gleeful
manner, have you tried setting the input device to four buttons /
two axis joystick and then calibrated it? I have never used
any special drivers for the T2, just used the plain old
joystick thingy.
Oh yeah, and to quote from the Microsoft web site:
"DX8 is a system component and cannot be uninstalled."
hehehe.
Cheers & HTH,
uwe
