Hi ladies and gents. I'm sorry to take away from your racing time with this post, but I have a few questions................. You see, I have owned GPL since it came out. I installed it on my old CPU and goofed around with it for a while. The frame rate was bad and I just couldn't get into it. I put the game away. This was a couple (maybe even 3?) years ago. Since then, I have been divorced, moved and started a new job and settled down here in the Twin Cities (Minnesota). Fast forward to 2 weeks ago..................... I'm digging through some boxes at my dad's from the move, and I'll be damned........There's my GPL CD and the manual! HHMMMMM.........So I bring it home and I am just about to install it on my new system (P3 500mh, 128 ram, 32mb Maxi Cougar, blah, blah, blah). I really want to play online now that I think it may actually run decent on my current setup. Although I have a slow (31200) internet connection speed, do you think it will be suffice to race online? ALSO.......What do I need as far as add on stuff, patches, goodies, etc. to have a fun racing experience both online and off? I have read about VROC, what is that? Is that how you race GPL online?
