I have only recently discovered the joys of GPL. The only problem is that I have downloaded several setups and placed them in their respective track directories but when I try to use them in the game the don't show up. Also, how do you get into this VROC thing? Told Ya, -- David Stamper Diamond Star Racing http://webpages.charter.net/dstamper

You need to put them under your 'player' directory.

Setups go in the players directory not the tracks directory. If you go into the players directory you will see a directory for your player name. Go into this and you will see a setups directory. Go into this and you will see a folder for each track. Copy the setup into the relevant track folder here. As to VROC, go to http://www.vroc.net and download WinVROC. You also need to download the WinVROC fix. Install the files and fire up the porgram whilst connected to the net. You will be asked to enter where GPL is installed and a chat name. The a rce list should appear, usually with between 10 and 20 races. Green races are ones you can join, amber races are ones you can;t join because of a speed issue, blue races are password protected and red races are either underway, for a track you don't have installed (indicated by a - in front of the track name) or for the wrong version of GPL. In order to run on VROC you must have version 1.2 of GPL installed. The setups go in the corresponding track folder in the "setups" subdirectory of your particular player. E.g. C:\sierra\gpl\players\Stamper__David\setups\spa\bat_out_of_hell.lo1 WinVROC... well, you need a modem and an internet connection (seeing as you're asking on a newsgroup I figure you got that bit sorted), a copy of GPL with v1.2 patch and no-disco patch applied (www.sierra.com) and nerves of steel. Everything you didn't want to know, but should at: www.vroc.net Jan. =--- DStamper wrote... > <snip>

David, you've probably already received the correct advice but here goes anyway.... The setup files go into the *player* folders. For each player you create a separate folder is automatically made. Under each player is a folder called "Setups". For each track you visit and create a setup for there is a sub-folder (the track name) created in that "Setups" folder. It is in that Track folder that you put your setups. -- Regards, Bruce Kennewell, Canberra, Australia. --------------------------- DStamper <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I have only recently discovered the joys of GPL.
