Hello,
I know I'm slow on the bandwagon here, but I recently got GPL and I am
learning the ropes so to speak.
I understand the concepts of the 60's era F1 car (high HP and low low
grip and so on) but I am having problems coming to terms with braking.
I currently use a T2 (waiting for new wheel to arrive) wheel. I have
braking help off (even on this happens). The problem (I think it is a
problem) is that I can not get the car slowed down enough unless I am
crawling! I seem to remember reading in the guide about seeing the
tires lockup and actaully being able to see the manufacturers name on
the tires (so you know you locked up). I never see that.
If I mash down on the brakes, shouldn't the brakes lockup? I've
checked and rechecked calibration.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe

Before you buy.
They should lock up. Are you hearing any tire squeal?
My guess is that you don't have the brake pedal enabled
in the control menu (F3 key).

Joe, getting the wheels to lock under braking is VERY easy in GPL. It
sounds like you have some problem with the way the game is reading your
controller input. Try "short calibrating" the brake pedal and see if
this helps - go to the calibration screen and when you are prompted to
press the pedals, only press them about 3/4 of the way. That way, when
you press them fully in the game, you should definitely reach what the
game considers to be the maximum.
Hope this helps,
Dave Ewing

Just a shot in the dark here -- but is your wheel calibrated in Windows
with with combined axis, but set for split axis on the wheel, or
vice-versa? I'm not familiar with your wheel, but the TSW, for example,
has a physical toggle on the wheel for split/combined axis, and it needs
to be set to match however it was calibrated in Windows.
