I have been trying since Win2k came out to get GPL to run on the thing?
Tried all the latest patches, all the oldest patches, every driver I can
find, and nothing seems to work. It just gets all fuzzy and screwed up at
the first menu screen. Same sort of probs with DTR. I run dual boot and I
have no problems with Win98. I would just love to get rid of Win98.
Hi Jack,
it's actually the Glide renderer that causes the problems. At
http://www.papy.com you should find an excellent D3D renderer, written by
Grant Reeves. If you use that instead (set GPL to DirectX), it'll run under
W2K as smooth as silk.
Maybe you can help me with something as well. I would like to use a limited
rights user account for online racing. However, although for members of the
admin group all works well, the limited rights (and also the default) users
don't see my USB-Logitech FF wheel. These users also don't have the right to
install the wheel.
I've checked all the available rights and security guidelines, and have
assigned loads of rights to these groups (for testing) but it didn't help.
As soon as I add them to the admin group, they see the wheel and all is
fine, but not if I restrict them to their own groups. W2K also keeps telling
me that the admin has issued a security guideline against the installation
of the Logitech wheel's drivers - well, he hasn't <g>
Can you perhaps help me with this?

I run GPL with no problems at all on Win2K advanced server with a Geforce
DDR and PIII@765 running DX8 and Detonator 7.17. It runs really well and
I've had no problems. It even works with my FF wheel!
