I finally broke the 1:30 barrier at Monza in GPL - down to a 1:29.44!
Boy! I wish I could get below 1:30.38.
I know that's a piece of cake for some of you, but for me... yippee etc. I
can't
wait for GPL Rank to get back in operation.
Now it's time to put the steering wheel away for a while and play "No One
Lives Forever". Man does not live by GPL alone!

You're probably right, 'cause my wife is sick and tired of seeing me play this
game. ;-p

It does feel very good to break 1:30 as I did this week, especially as it's
only taken me 18 months!
Now if i can only get a sub 1:29

One of the things that helped me (besides not having a wife asking "Are you
playing _that_ again???" <g>) was the track guide for Monza at
http://lightsoutracing.simplenet.com/trackguides/index.html .

Congratulations Tim - I've been after the sub 1:30 for about the same
length of time. Good luck on the next milestone - I think I'll go off and
try to improve at some other tracks before coming back to Monza. My Spa time
is really crappy, so maybe I'll head off that way...

Spa, don't talk to me aboutn Spa. I've been stuck at 3:22 for 4 months now
and I just can't for the likes of me think of any way, where or how to go
quicker.

And two seconds faster than me as well - I tried shifting for myself
yesterday at Spa and managed to get down to 3:24.58. I'm still a little gun
shy about attacking some of the apexes, what with having lost it in the dirt
in some spots, so my line is too sharp & slow in some corners. Sigh.
Practice, practice...
