Hey Guys, Looking for some help...
In my search for a non FF wheel with split axis I ordered the RS with
Shifter (Tech says I needed shifter to get split axis).
I received my wheel and shifter yesterday but I have had no luck installing
it correctly. I am running WinMe with a Celeron 566 and 192 Meg of ram and
directx 7 on an Abit BH6.
First I installed the RS Shifter software for non FF wheel as instructed,
then plugged in the USB connector (with Shifter cartridge and shifter
plugged in, and pedals plugged into base). It then detected the wheel as an
RS Wheel and Shifter but it said not connected in the gaming options. :( I
then tried instaling the shifter first, then software (after a re image, I
either re imaged or did a clean install before trying anything different).
Then I tried Directx 8, then I tried using the 15 pin game port with
shifter, the I tried reformatting and doing a clean install, I tried drivers
from the CD's, and I tried drivers from the Act Labs site, then I tried just
the pedals and wheel. When I tried to calibrate the pedals the gas seemed
fine, but when I press on the brake it goes to full brake then full gas, I
actually get a lower gas value stepping on the brake.
I must admit that the wheel/pedals/shifter looks and feels great, but I am
getting really frustrated here and I have run out of ideas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
