Thrustmaster has a wheel and pedal combination for the DC: http://us.thrustmaster.com/products/products.php3?platform=DreamCast -- don New GPL Programs for the Converted Tracks: http://www.ianparker.co.uk/gpl/bapom/ You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

Finally got hold of a Dreamcast and F355 Challenge, which is hugely impressive (graphics, circuits, car models, sound, physics are all excellent) but it's not the easiest of games on the DC pad. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent DC steering wheel? Thanks, Simon.
I done the same just yesterday and it is tough with the DC controller and also hurts my right index finger after a while. I was wondering about a whell but where do you set these things up I mean you cant really mount them to your couch? Just wondering?? Act labs can be used for PC, PSX, DC, all with the same wheel, you just have to buy the appropriate cartridge. WWW.act-labs.com "Simon Brown" <[email hidden]> a crit dans le message news: pwFR5.16788$[email hidden]...

I think most of the DC steering wheels don't have any sort of clamping mechanism anyway, so the only thing you can really do is to balance the wheel on your lap. If the wheel unit had suckers you could stick it to a big book, or a board or something, which you'd then put on your lap, and at least the whole thing wouldn't be sliding off all the time. I've seen at least one DC wheel with a extra molded piece of plastic under the wheel unit, which is the shape of an upside-down T, which goes between your legs and under your thighs, so your own weight holds the thing in place. Maybe that would be best for playing on a couch. That way the image is 640x480 non-interlaced. Also solves the problem of mounting a controller to a couch.

I've tried the Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel for the dreamcast, said to be the best DC-wheel, and wasn't very impressed. -- Gunnar #31 SUCKS#015 Tupperware MC#002 DoD#0x1B DoDRT#003 DoD:CT#4,8 Kibo: 2 to err is human -- to forgive is bovine.

I didn't like it much, though. the overall feel was pretty weird and plasticy, the steering wheel was angled WAY too much so I felt like I was driving a truck, the pedals made my ancles hurt, and the reach to the buttons made my wrists hurt. we couldn't get the shifter paddles to work in TDLM either. -- Gunnar #31 SUCKS#015 Tupperware MC#002 DoD#0x1B DoDRT#003 DoD:CT#4,8 Kibo: 2 silence is FOO!

Thats very interesting, how do you connect it to the video cable?? Is there a converter for that sort of thing?? There is a VGA box that is sold by Sega and others sold by third parties. They run about $15-$20 and are well worth it. The Dreamcast can output a true VGA signal so it's not really a converter, but simply a box that enables the VGA output. Check out www.ebworld.com for examples and prices. The improvement in picture is well worth it. The games look much sharper. Not all games support the VGA adapter, but of the 14 games I own only last years NFL Blitz doesn't work. I believe that most if not all developers are supporting the VGA signal. I've heard that the Mad Catz wheel is the best. Still it's not going to be of the quality of most PC wheels. "Gunnar Horrigmo" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Hello, We, ACT LABS have two wheels that will work with the Dreamcast. The Force RS and the RS. All our racing systems feature changeable cartridges that will allow you to use the same wheel with various gaming platforms. If you are intending to use it primarily with the Dreamcast, I would suggest you purchase the non-force RS. The RS also comes with table clamps that will allow to mount it to a table.
