What's your authority that the bible is any better than the later
transcribed Koran? Do you have a hot line to heaven? If not, you
have NO authority.

Re: Do You Want To Know For Sure That You Are Going To Heaven? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure that you are going to Heaven which is described in the Holy Bible as a beautiful place with no death, sorrow, sickness or pain. (newsgroup-post 141)

Shouldnt bother with the reply, these people never re-read their posts,
and generally know jack-shit about what they describe, and cling
desperately to the belief that there must be some greater being, due to
some deep seated dislike of the idea of being without guidance.
Its well known that the old testament alone is based on the ramblings
of many authors, with political spin smothered over it to help the
conquest of lands near the current iraq and egypt. There's no evidence
of half of the contents of it, most of the stories are based on myth
and intended to guide people away from the worship of many gods.
Personally i feel no need to believe in anything 'higher'.

Forward the posts to their ISP. They are off-topic and rude. There is
a reason usenet news is split into so many different newsgroups by
subject: so we don't have to plough through all this crap to reach the
stuff we're here for.

Yeah, we figured that out!

You assume you know the answers to the eternal questions of mankind.
This is true of all followers of dozens of major (and minor) religions.
This website is about innocent earthly diversions, i.e. model
railroading. You, perhaps like those who flew airplanes into the Trade
Towers and Pentagon, think that you have special insights and are "true
believers", thus are justified going to extremes to force your
viewpoints on others. If a young Jesus lived today he would of gone on
the web to learn how he could have been a better carpenter. But some
"all knowing" extremist of that time would have subjected him to their
religious beliefs of the day rather than help him in his daily
pursuits. Get a life, and get off this hobby website.
