Must just be a matter of taste -- I've always enjoyed NFS and NFS2 more
than either Driver or MM. Be advised that Taxi2 does offer an in-
cockput view (try the function keys, I think) -- which is more than can
be said for Ford Racing. <G>

Before you buy.
Just downloaded it and works fine with my voodoo card, crap game
though by the looks of it, driver is much better in my opinion, may
even say that MM1 & 2 are better...

I've moved over to an NVidia TNT2 Ultra, I have a LOT better luck with
D3D-based games, and, lo and behold, even the Taxi 2 demo works. It's
all in French, so it's difficult to figure out all the menus if you
don't know any French (or very little). Once I got the controller
settings assigned, it was a pleasant surprise -- it looks and drives a
LOT like NFS2 (or the original NFS with modern 3D-accelerated
graphics), and there's a TON of traffic to weave through. So far, I
think I'm finding the demo to be more enjoyable than either the Midtown
Madness or Driver demos, which are the two things that come to mind for
comparison (or NFS/NFS2).
It's not GPL, but it looks like it might be an interesting diversion.
LOADS better than Test Drive 6, Swamp Buggy Racing, or Dukes of
Hazzard, anyway -- check it out here:
