Hey Eldred,
Thanks for hosting the all the F3 races lately. I'm trying to get the hang
of on-line racing and it's nice to see F3 only races. I don't want to ruin
a GP race just because I don't leave enough room for a pass or something...
I wish more people were racing though :-( everytime I see a F3 race, no one
is "signing up".

There's the GMSS and the GPVL online racing leagues that run F3 cars. So
when you think you would like to run in a full field of F3's, just contact
them. As far as the F3 pick-up races, Give or take about 8:pm - 12:am EST
(-5 hours GMT) The T.Bone server runs and ussually there's four or five of
us having some fun. It's a shame that only a hand full of people like F3
racing. But, slowly we're gaining strangth :-)

I sometimes run F3 races (around 7 pm EST weekdays or 11:00 am on the
weekends). If you are interested send me an email and I'll let you know when
I'm on VROC. I don't have much time now for GPL but I hope to be able to race
on a more regular basis in the new year.

The wife is away in Toronto for 10 days next week. Yes! 10 nights of GPL!!
Woo-hoo!!
I'm in BC so the 7PM EST isn't so great. 11:00 AM maybe (if I can get a
coffee or two in me).
I've got a fast cable connection (peak: 2-3Mbps down, 1Mbps up), maybe I
should run my own F3 races for the Pacific Time Zone night-owls. Dumb
question but, can the person who is hosting also drive in the race?

Yes :)

You sure can. I have cable as well with a 400 celeron and a V3 and so far no
problems hosting up to 6 people (it should handle a lot more but that's the
most that have ever joined ;-). Just keep an eye on the FPS to make sure you
don't dip below 36; if you do just turn down some of the graphics.
Seeing that you are on Pacific time you should check out the leagues Mike
mentioned as I believe they run from the west coast. I'd have to stay up way to
late to run in those leagues. :( I'm considering starting an informal F3 league
in the new year that is a little more friendly time-wise to those on the east
coast

my PII 333 and 21 guys showed up. My frame rate was in the 20s for the first
few corners and as a result I caused a big mess at the start. I learned from
that and only host 12 or so now.
p.s. I'm in Western Canada so if you host F3 races in the evening (PST) I
might show up. I prefer F1 but variety is nice.

p.s. I forgot to mention, I'm running 1024x768 will all trackside objects
displayed, cars only in mirror, and detail fairly low and still get 36fps
hosting most of the time. With your PC you shouldn't have to turn anything
down to host a full field - I'm still in the PII dark ages (:
p.p.s. send me an email off line
