Hi Rrevved,
I think you're a better source of knowledge than most here for flight sims.
I could never get European Air War to run properly on my computer. Granted,
compared to the fire breathing Athlon/GeForceUltra desktops, my notebook is
a 98-lb weakling, but the Savage IX chip (pretty much an underclocked
Savage4 built on a 0.18 process) has no problem with other D3D titles. In
European Air War, the instrument panel is visible, but the textures in the
3D portion of the window tear so much it looks like an untuned station and
it's unflyable in anything but the outside view and one other view (F8 I
think). Was there a problem with EAW and perhaps a patch somewhere?
thanks
Stephen

Probably better to ask this question in comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.flight-sim but
,yes, there is a 3D cockpit in Janes WW2 fighters. You should be able to
find a demo if you root around in the Electronic Arts website long enough.
Another option would be to download Aces High
http://www.hitechcreations.com/ which has a true 6 DofF cockpit in too. Its
free for download and has some limited H2H play . They make their money only
if you decide to sign up .
BTW :Is N4 going to have an adjustable point of view? The snap views of the
flight sims aren't very useful in racing since the margin for error is so
much smaller in racing. The slewing of the view is very distracting in GPL
and generally results in my car deviating from its intended path.

WW2 fighters does have the 3d cockpit you seem to desire, you are able to
look down and see all the instruments and controls moving aswell as being
able to look around in just about all directions.

Thanks for all the good advice. I now have a "mission" for the weekend
(besides messing with the Ferrari).
