I'm new to GPL and having just brought the game today, I tired to use GPLshift for my RS shifter... The problem is, I can't figure out which button to assign to shift up and shift down... I tried 1st and 4th gear and am now stuck with it, I couldn't even find the default setting, could someone please help!! Also, does GPL supports clutch? If I use the RS shifter, how should I setup the clutch? Thanks!!

It depends on which utility you are using. I use ShiftIt! by Tom Grandgent. You need to assign the 9/PgUp and 3/PgDn keys on the numeric keypad to the up and downshift controls. The timing settings are also important. I use a poll interval of 80, Key Down of 230 and Shift Delay of 230. I think the shifter program by JSJ also uses PgUp and PgDn but I am not sure. I found this utility to be much harder to use than ShiftIt! GPL does support a clutch but this only needs to be used at starts. I assign the second button in on the right hand side to the clutch. what do you mean by "the wheel's upper spokes as well as the 3rd and 4th gear" I don�t understand. when I set it up on my PC in the GPL Controller screen I have the RS Shifter in neutral then assign the clutch to the upper button on the left spoke, the raise arm to the upper button on the right spoke, the shift up to the middle button on the left spoke, the shift down to the middle button on the right spoke. I leave look right and left assigned to the keys x and z on the keyboard and I assign nothing to the lower buttons on both spokes and I assign nothing to the button on the lower spoke, also nothing is assigned to the buttons on the wheel base itself - are you assigning your settings the same way? Are you sure that the lower button to the right on the wheel base is in off position? We (*JSJ*) and I will tonight test the GPLShift program on my new PC (yipeeee!) with a 650MHz AMD Duron and Win2000. If we find anything we will keep you posted. Maybe it is specific to Win Me?
