Has anyone played Jason Jarrett and Justin Labonte's new Playstation game called Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing? Ever dream of dropping the hammer on the backstretch and getting slammed into the retaining wall at 160mph? Better not cause youll be finishing the race with three wheels and no hood! Thats how rad the damage model is. Snowball.com is auctioning off items from Jason, Justin, Lyndon Amick and Hank Parker Jr.! You want a piece of Jason? Or at least his driving shoes? How about the hood off Justin's car? Lyndon's goggles? Well, just go to Snowball.com and bid on what you want! The really cool thing is that all net proceeds from the auction will be donated directly to the Winston Cup Racing Wives Auxiliary, which will then distribute the funds to charities in memory of the late Adam Petty. Here's the link: www.electricartists.com/jandl/jlauction.html Check out the cool TV commercial for Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing (have you seen it yet?): http://www.electricartists.com/jandl/JLcommercial.ram. Want to know more about Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing? Want to help spread the word about the most radical and realistic stock car racing game out there? Drop me an email at [email hidden]. I have hats, t-shirts and other prizes to give to anyone who helps out! See ya in my rear view, Jason J&L Team [email hidden] Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

This is a repackaged version of World Touring Cars by the Toca 1 & 2 guys...Codemasters. They add sons of legendary Winston Cup drivers to the title and hope the gullible American public will think they are getting a Nascar title. While I applaud anyone who spreads the word about touring cars...I kinda feel this is a-bit underhanded. dave henrie "Tim Wheatley" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9BUU5.1482$s6.9304@stones... > Someone mentioned the damage model in my site's forums, is it really that > good!? > > --

I can't believe Justin Labonte and Jason Jarrett actually endorse this damned thing. Seems their "good Christian" fathers would've taught them a little bit better than that. -- ------------------------------------- Morgan Vincent Wooten GPLRank: +15.49 http://home.earthlink.net/~morganv00/ ------------------------------------- "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:GoXU5.88996$[email hidden]... > This is a repackaged version of World Touring Cars by the Toca 1 & 2 > guys...Codemasters. Geez, that sucks. I thought it *was* another stock car game - but I admit that I hadn't been interested enough in the program to get more info. Nope, actually this is a renamed Toca World Touring Cars, or Toca3, for the American market. It looks pretty great, I think the driving model is a bit easy though. best wishes, Milan "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> schreef in bericht news:GoXU5.88996$[email hidden]...

Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing is the lowest form of marketing to the terminally uninformed -- and a new low even for CodeMasters. The only thing the younger Jarrett and Labonte boyos have to do with this game is their picture on the box and ads, and the royalties they get for using their names. Apparently CodeMasters got stuck with a huge pile of TOCA Touring Car inventory, and some genius in marketing figured they could sell it to the gullible by pasting on a couple well-known names and making the pictures of the cars small enough in the promotional materials so you don't see that they're all British Touring Cars. A pity, because the BTCC is the some of the best racing on the planet, and TOCA (and TOCA2) is a pretty good game on PSX, but this sort of "those dummies won't know the difference" attitude on the part of CodeMasters is beyond insulting. Apparently CodeMasters thinks the gaming audience is as stupid as THEY are. BB

...that the vehicles in ToCA World Touring Cars(Euro) or Jarrett & Labonte (US) are far from the standard issue of British Touring Cars. Since when did the Chrysler 300M for example race in the BTCC? The cars used in the championship (although 'touring; in style') are taken from all corners of the globe including the likes of the Holden Commodore from Australia...the list goes on. Have you had a chance to play it at all? The main difference between J&L and WTC is that at the beginning of J&L you get to choose who you want to race as, J or L, and the one you don't choose is put into the World tier of the Championship in one of the best cars and thus forms your enventual chamionship rival. twilight "Computer problems? I thought that all the cars in ToCA WTC were all Super Touring cars - 2.0L engines, and about 1000 kg. Yes, those cars you mention didn't race in the BTCC, but they did take part in various other Super Touring championships. Unless, ToCA WTC includes models of the big Aussie V8s, and wotnot, but I don't think it does. -- Richard.
