I'm sitting here looking at a 1967 Honda RA300 (#14) sitting atop my monitor. It's a little smaller than real life (1:20), although detailed enuf to fool the eye, as we say in French. It's detailed right down to the bundle of snakes exhaust plumbing (matte black), the blue stripe on Surtees' helmet, and the see-thru wheels...just like the 3D wheels available for GPL! (Also like GPL add-ons: the roll-bar is chromed.) Turn it over and you can see the shift linkage attached to the tranny. The Firestones have an authentic-looking tread. It cost $99 from ewacars.com (item # EBB2001) and its only apparent defect is that it seems to have about 3 scale inches of toe-in in front...and about 2 scale inches of toe-OUT in the rear. Loose anyone? It's not quite as nice as Exoto's Lotus 49 (the only other large-scale model of a GPL car...unless you take a tiny hacksaw to their '68 Ferrari 312's aero devices), but pretty darn nice. --Steve Smith

I just got an A Model Lotus Type 49 1/18 off of Ebay for US$24.99. Do a search on "Jim Clark." Now it is not as nice as the $129 Exoto, but I only spend 1/5 the price! Too bad the Honda is 1/20 and $99. SLG "Stephen Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Bruce, Go here: http://ewa1.com/cgi-bin/webcartc/webcart-frames.cgi The photo (which looks like a 1:43) doesn't do it justice. It's cleaner, sharper in the, um, flesh. --Steve Bruce Kennewell <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
