Yet another reason to go AMD! Taken from a 3dfx.products.voodoo5 post:

The Voodoo4 4500 features a universal PCB and is compatible with all Pentium
4 motherboards. The Voodoo3 product family and the Voodoo5 5500 boards
feature a 3.3 Volt only PCB and in most cases will not fit in the new
Pentium 4 motherboards. 3dfx does not advise the purchase either Voodoo3 or
Voodoo5 products for Pentium 4 systems.

There are 2 very good fotos in the above link to show you what the 3dfx clip
is referring to....

That cements my purchase of a AMD cpu in the future then. After
reading the comparison of the P4 1.5ghz to the AMD 1.2ghz DDR at aces
hardware I had no intention of buying a P4 anyway.

that this chips biggest claim to fame was it's ultra fast floating point
routines. Routines most software today CAN'T use? I've heard that Corel
Draw 10 will use them however. I guess this effectively cripples the chip
for almost all games in existence! Am I missing something here?
It sounds to me that it's a little like buying a multiprocesser P-III and
running Windows 95 on it.

Seeing all the problems the P4 is having, I won't be considering it
anyways. By the time it's "fixed", I'll probably be in the market for a
new vidcard anyways. :-) Seen the news about the P4 recalls?
